Our primary partners are the Red Cross and Red Crescent National Societies and the Geneva-based IFRC and ICRC. In particular, we work closely with the Community Preparedness and Risk Reduction department at the IFRC secretariat, on implementation of the IFRC Action Plan on Climate Change. IN recent years this has included for instance an e-learning course on climate change and a Climate Training Kit.
We also work with a wide range of other humanitarian and development agencies, sometimes in wider partnerships, such as Partners for Resilience (PfR) – one of the world's biggest programs on climate-smart disaster risk reduction –and in the knowledge management of BRACED.
We also work closely with many academic institutions and climate service providers such as the International Research Institute for Climate and Society, based at Columbia University in New York, which provides forecast products to help the IFRC prepare for disaster, hosts a helpdesk staffed by climate scientists for disaster managers in the field, and provides interns for climate risk management work around the world.
