Putting vulnerable people at the center of communication for adaptation

Putting vulnerable people at the center of communication for adaptation
4 February 2011

The 2010 World Resources Report (product of a 20-year partnership among UNEP, UNDP, the World Bank and WRI), dedicated to Decision Making In A Changing Climate, provides practical guidance and information about integrating climate risks to policy makers and officials, based on extensive research and analysis. Pablo Suarez, the Climate Centre’s Associate director of programmes was invited to submit a contribution on innovative ways to share information and insights. The paper, with co-authors Colleen Macklin (Parsons School) and Justin Benn (Vivo Media) is entitled Putting vulnerable people at the center of communication for adaptation, and argues for community-based learning through methods such as participatory video and games that simulate the complexity of decisions in a changing climate.  The paper is now available on the recently launched 2010 WRR webpage and can be downloaded here.
