3. Policy and partnerships

Engaging in dialogue with national and local government departments, meteorological offices, civil society, the private sector and other stakeholders is key to shaping inclusive climate action and increasing our collective ambitions on this agenda.

Resources for adaptation are increasingly available and we need to engage with this agenda to ensure that risks faced by the most vulnerable people are addressed and that this effort is adequately funded.

This third module includes three sub-modules:

3a. Policy dialogue and finance introduces the basic elements in engaging in dialogue with national governments, knowledge centres and civil society to help influence and support how climate adaptation is perceived, implemented and funded.

3b. Partnerships and consortia explores the importance of partnerships for climate risk management and policy dialogue and discuss the need to collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders, ranging from governments and knowledge centres to the private sector.

3c. Communication is designed to help National Societies raise awareness of climate change and its impacts, directed at different audiences in their country, including vulnerable communities and stakeholders.

Each sub-module includes topics ranging from climate finance to private-sector engagement.

All modules offer presentations, exercises, games and background reading, supporting our engagement with partners in climate-related policy dialogue.

All products will need to be tailored to context and audiences.
